Winter sports
Even if Appiano might not be the first-choice winter destination, you can choose from a variety of activities.
As long as there is snow in the village, you just need to drive towards the Mendola. There is a toboggan run at Masaccio (hiking trail in summer), continuing to Appiano Monte, above the Steinegger tavern. However, when the snow starts melting, nearby there is an alternative. Many landlords offer accommodation also in winter, on competitive conditions. By the way: the Christmas market is only a stone’s throw away.
