S. Justina church
Walking trails across Appiano Monte to S. Paolo takes you past this charming church.
In 1327 the foundations for the S. Justina church were laid on a place which could scarcely be better. In the heart of vineyards and above S. Paolo you can feel a width that is particularly rare.
The S. Justina church, in its present form, was constructed in the years 1645 to 1650. It is decorated by a choir termination and simple vaults, constructed on stone consoles. The huge round-arched windows and the stone-framed round-arched portal were created in 1768. In the interior the early Baroque carved altar of 1645 decorate the interior. In the gable you can see God father, in the niches S. Justina and probably S. Vigilio. On the precious altarpiece you can see Madonna and her child.
The S. Justina church is often used for family celebrations. If you would like to visit this church, ask the priest of S. Paolo.
