The painter Max Sparer was born in Termeno and spent his autumn of life in Monticolo.
Max Sparer is one of the painters and graphic artists of South Tyrol. He was born in 1886 in the vine-growing village of Termeno. After his formation at the college of education and the gymnasium of Bolzano, he dedicated himself to arts and several other courses. In 1926 he exhibited his works at the third biennial of arts of the Tridentine Venice, taking place in Bolzano.
Already at 45 years he abandoned society and stared living in the romantic Seeschloessl at the large lake of Monticolo. Most of the pieces of art of Max Sparer treat the topics of landscapes or of farmers in South Tyrol. In 1986 the artist deceased in his residence.
