Tschindlhof Residence

The Residence Tschindlhof is located northwest of San Michele, amidst the gorgeous landscape of Appiano Monte.

The wall fragments in the basement of the Tschindlhof residence bear witness to a high medieval residential tower. In the 17th century the building was rebuilt. Around 1900 the building was again extended and the sundial was repainted. Until 1964 there was a winery in the northern part.

A barrel vault in the east-west hall of the first floor, stone framed doors and a beautiful arched kitchen are just some of the decorative design elements with which the Tschindlhof is equipped. In 1899, Heinrich von Mörl bought the residence and since then the von Mörl family has been living there.

Between 1975 and 1977 the Tschindlhof was converted into a hotel. Today, the different names of the rooms tell their own stories.

In the Residence Tschindlhof guests find a special kind of accommodation in venerable walls. Like in a fairytale…
