Nature parks
Visit one of the protected areas in South Tyrol, reflecting the beauty of nature.
There is a total of eight nature parks in South Tyrol. Moreover there are several biotopes and protected areas, which do not only rejoice the hikers’ hearts. If you would like to know more about single nature parks, we recommend you to come to see the visitor’s centres, providing interesting information on the respective parks.
The closest officially protected green is the Monte Corno nature park. In 2000, the area belonging to this park has been enlarged, so that nowadays it includes a total of 6,866 sqm. This nature reserve stretches in Bassa Atesina. Thanks to the sub-Mediterranean climate, it presents the richest flora and fauna in South Tyrol. The other protected areas of South Tyrol are the Sciliar-Catinaccio park, Guppo di Tessa, Puez-Odle, Fanes-Senes-Braies, Sesto Dolomites, Ries-Aurina, Sarentine Alps and the Stelvio national park.
