Kaiserberg
The Kaiserberg belongs to a mountain ridge called Monte di Mezzo. It is located at the border between Appiano and Bolzano.
A part of the Kaiserberg is being (spring 2011) transformed into a recreation area, equipped with walking trails and viewpoints. A sunny trail that starts in Cornaiano takes hikers to the forested mountain ridge. At the foot of the Kaiserberg, there are parking lots, also ideal as starting point for hikes and promenades at the Kaiserberg.
One of the major sights in the surroundings of the Kaiserberg is Castel Firmiano, located right next to the mountain ridge. The MMM Firmiano belongs to the mountain museum concept of Reinhold Messner and can also be visited from inside, which is by the way particularly recommendable. Further information on this castle can also be found on the following sites.
