Perkeo and his cortège dominate Salorno in the period of Carnival. There is also a special ritual, in which the major of Salorno hands over the key of the town-hall to Perkeo. On Mardi Gras, this key is given back to the major. On Carnival Saturday there is a huge parade in the village.
